Brandless – The New Online Grocer Where Everything Retails For Just $3!

Hey Broke Foodies,

Once Restaurant Weeks is over, we will all need some much needed TLC for our bank accounts. And for me, that means less trips to trendy restaurants and more trips to the grocery store.

Tide, Kellogg’s, Stouffers, Nature’s Valley, Jiff, and Campbell’s are all popular brand names that you and I  come across on supermarket shelves everyday. But what if I told you, you could go Brandless and have the same quality products as the ones listed above for just $3!

Brandless offers everyday essentials such as dish soap, canned goods, honey, granola and much more all at a price point of $3 or less. Even better, a large percentage of the products sold at Brandless are fair-tradeorganic, Non-GMO, and even Gluten-free. And it’s all delivered to your door-step!

So, how does Brandless make it all possible?

CEOs Tina Sharkey and Ido Leffler are changing the face of ecommerce and going toe to toe with traditional grocery chains by eliminating the “brand tax” . In a nutshell, eliminating the “brand tax” cuts out the middle man and takes the product straight to the consumer. By using this and other unconventional methods, the CEO expects to save consumers 40%.

I set out to see if these $3 household items are actually less than the product “doubles” found in local grocery stores. The calculations below were calculated per ounce and compared to items found in local HEB stores. Since most products have different sizes, this is the best way to equally compare.

In conclusion, the Brandless total comes out to be  approx. $13.50 and  the brand name total was $19.10. Overall I saved about 29% on this purchase. Not too shabby! However, due to Brandless’ shipping costs, the percentage gap goes further from the 40% mark once added in.

First time shipping is only $3 with the code “hello3” . After that, the price of shipping is $9 flat for any purchase under $75. So the smart thing to do is buy in bulk like you would at retailer giant, Sams Club. Not to mention, you are helping out a good cause. The online grocer partners with Feeding America to donate meals to those who are facing hunger. #FeelGoodPoints

I just ordered my food and home essentials for the first time today. I will update you with my opinion on the quality and taste of each item when my box arrives.
